Silo level monitoring in pig breeding farm
Application developed for Wen’s Food group, a leading producer of poultry and pigs in China. This equipment was intended for a new farm built in Xincheng (Jiangxi province).
The engineering was performed by Guangzhou Bihlmann Automation; a Scaime integrator in China. The silos were provided by Hog Slat, a leading US manufacturer of animal breeding equipment.
The customer needs weighing systems for level monitoring of 14 silos 5 to 15t capacity, used for animal feed.
The feet of silos are mounted on load cells connected to IPE50 weighing indicators connected to customer monitoring system by RS485/Modbus-RTU network.
For the silo weighing, we’ve proposed SK30X load cells, made in stainless steel and providing 2t or 5t capacity with IP68 protection level. The load cells are very easily installed with STABIFLEX mounting kits offering the possitility to transform a silo in weighing scale without using additional safety device. The load cells are connected to a high accuracy IPE50 weight indicator through an ALCJB-A4 junction box. The complete weighing chain achieves an accuracy of 3000 divisions.
