Silos monitoring in Zinc powder production plant
This application was developed for UMICORE, the leading recycler of galvanizing residues in the world. With annual capacity of 20.000 t, Umicore Hunan FuHong Zinc Chemicals is the largest producer unit of fine zinc powder in China.
The engineering was performed by Shanghai Sunrise Measurement & Control; a Scaime integrator specialized in weighing systems for industries.
The customer needs weighing systems for level monitoring of 10 silos.
The 10 silos of 100t capacity are mounted on four load cells connected to an IPE50 indicator for level monitoring
For each silo weighing, we’ve proposed CB50X load cells in 30t capacity. These load cells can be very easily installed with STABICAN mounting kits. With this mounting hardware, it’s possible to transform a silo in weighing scale without using additional safety device. The load cells are connected to a high accuracy IPE50 weight indicator through an ALCJB-A4 junction box. The complete weighing chain achieves an accuracy of 3000 divisions.
